The supercomputer, called Condor Galaxy 1 (CG-1), is very powerful and has 54 million cores. It will be made in the US and should be prepared to use this year. Two more supercomputers, CG-2 and CG-3, will be public in 2024.
This deal is part of a contest among businesses to challenge Nvidia, a leader in AI computing. Many cloud computing providers want alternatives to Nvidia’s chips because they are in high demand.
The CEO of Cerebras, Andrew Feldman, said they might provide more supercomputers later. They plan to create a total of 36 exaFLOPs of AI computing in the next year.
The supercomputers will be used to offer AI computing services to healthcare and energy companies in the UAE. The CEO of Cerebras will also work closely with G42 to improve their computing services.
